Mughal-E-Azam (1960/2004)

This movie is considered the finest work in Bollywood cinematic history. It broke all box office records and became the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, a distinction it held for 15 years. Directed by K. Asif, the movie stars Prithviraj Kapoor, Madhubala, Durga Khote and Dilip Kumar in main roles. Dilip Kumar played the role of Mughal Prince Salim, who falls in love with Anarkali (Madhubala), a court dancer. Mughal-E-Azam won one National Film Award and three Filmfare Awards with many other awards. The movie was re-released in colour version on 12 November 2004.
