BLM protest: Statues vandalised for glorifying racism under scrutiny

The statue of Canada’s first Prime Minister Sir John MacDonald was covered by pink paint by protestors of Black Lives Matter. Many people criticize him for setting up some of the damaging elements of the Indigenous policy, which were draconian.

Believed to be one of the greatest British leader Winston Churchill’s statue also became a target of anti-racism protest. Many pointed out that Churchill passed some racist comments in the Palestine Royal Commission and faced backlash for the way he dealt with 1943 Bengal famine.
