Massive wildfires in Siberia engulf area larger than Greece

The non-governmental environmental organisation, Greenpeace Russia, claimed that the wildfires in Siberia have engulfed an area larger than Greece so far. Greenpeace prepared an authoritative report by using the satellite monitoring data. According to the report, the total area burnt by the fires in Russia since the beginning of 2020 has reached 19 million hectares, of which 10 million hectares were forest fires.
