Kanye West, the 43-year old American rapper shocked the entire world when he announced his candidacy for the U.S. Presidential election on July 4th. Yesterday, he conducted an unconventional campaign for his Presidency bid in Charleston, South Carolina. The rally took place in a marriage-cum-conference hall, where West was seen wearing a security vest and ‘2020’ shaved on the back of his head. He spoke in detail about his faith in God, abortion, and Harriet Tubman. The 43-year old rapper broke down while sharing his personal experience on abortion. He thanked his mother for bringing him into this world as his father was considering an abortion. He further went on to add that he and his wife Kim Kardashian were planning to abort their first-born North West, but a sign from God stopped him from doing so. He also said that for every baby born the mother should get 1 million for child-care expenses. His speech turned controversial when he went on to say, “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had the slaves go work for other white people”. There are speculations that this rally might be a promotional stunt for the release of his next album or could be a maniac episode as West has previously suffered from bipolar disorder. Last week, he qualified for the Oklahoma’s Presidential ballot. West must get 10,000 signatures by 20th Jul to quality for the Presidential ballot in South Carolina.
